DC Public Education Fund is currently seeking applicants for both full-time staff positions and unpaid internship positions. These positions will play an integral role in engaging private sector and general public donors to support the improvement of District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Design Specialist, DCPS IMPACT Training and Calibration Platform: DC Public Education Fund is looking for highly motivated and skilled talent to collaborate with staff at the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). The Design Specialist, DCPS IMPACT Training and Calibration Platform will work closely with DCPS employees in the Office of Human Capital to help design and launch of a state-of-the-art online platform to be used to provide training to DCPS staff responsible for teacher evaluation, monitor their inter-rater reliability over time, and provide targeted support to individual evaluators to ensure that their scoring practices remain consistent with district standards. Candidates selected for this position will be responsible for designing and and scripting training curriculum and for coordinating production of master scores and justifications for calibration videos. This work will involve a high volume of writing and group facilitation. Additionally, candidates selected will collaborate with the media/technology company contracted to design the functional components of the online platform. They also will be responsible for piloting training materials with district employees and incorporating revisions into the training content. This groundbreaking online platform will ensure that DCPS teachers’ evaluation scores are as consistent and supportive as possible while also setting a model for other states and districts that are developing similar systems, spurred by Race to the Top. Graduate Development Intern: Reporting to the Portfolio Director, the Graduate Development Intern will support the Portfolio Director in developing and implementing strategies to raise significant private financial support (approximately $5-10M per year) for a specific set of projects that are part of the DCPS’ system-wide reform initiatives, and to manage several million dollars of existing grants. Undergraduate Development Intern: Reporting to the Operations and Information Manager, the Undergraduate Development Intern will support DC Public Education Fund's fundraising work by assisting the team in maintaining recordkeeping systems and files for existing major donors, assembling profiles, and compiling research on existing and potential funders for DCPS programs and initiatives. Additionally, the Undergraduate Development Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to 1-2 long term projects based on the intern's interests and staff needs.
