Kevin Hinton Portfolio Director
Kevin Hinton is a Portfolio Director with the DC Public Education Fund. As a Portfolio Director, Kevin is responsible for raising and managing private funds to support innovation and build capacity within DCPS in human capital and data and accountability.
Kevin possesses over ten years of experience developing and executing growth strategies, launching technology-based products and managing business partnerships in sectors including education, nonprofit services and online services. Prior to joining the Education Fund, Kevin worked with PBS as a consultant to help plan and launch the PBS Digital Learning Library, a national educational digital media initiative developed in partnership with the Council of Chief State School Officers. Kevin has also held management positions with several market leading organizations including National Association of Investment Companies, Discovery Education and Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive.
Kevin earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Williams College. He is active in NYU-Stern alumni affairs and has evaluated and coached teams participating in the NYU-Stern Business Plan Competition (on both the Social Venture and Traditional Entrepreneurship tracks of the competition) since 2002. Kevin also served previously as a member of the Executive Committee of the Williams College Society of Alumni. He and his wife, Monica Warren-Jones, are the proud parents of two students in DCPS’ Capitol Hill Cluster School.
